Terre delle Falcole

An ancient Molino, or windmill, in the heart of Chianti Classico marks the locale for one of the most exciting new wineries in Italy. In 1996 Frank Grace, an American, and German partner Gerhard Hirmer purchased the Roman era villa and converted it into a state of the art new age winery. To ensure excellence, Grace hired famed Italian winemaker Franco Bernabei to produce the first wines under the label Il Molino di Grace. The results were staggering. Their 2000 vintage “Gratius” (100% Sangiovese) received Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri and Il Molino di Grace was awarded Emerging Cantina of the Year for 2004. Keep an eye out for this hot running producer, they are destined for greatness.

Now, Frank Grace and Franco Bernabei introduce their new label Terre delle Falcole. The wines are classic earthy dry fruit styled. Chianti Classico is a fascinating blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Cabernet and Merlot (rules in Italy are made to be broken!). Il Falcole is 100% Sangiovese.
