Owner and winemaker Giancarlo Cignozzi has a spectacular property in Siena producing Brunello di Montalcino, a 100% Sangiovese which is named after his daughter Gea, and an incredible blend of 12 grapes called Do'. Six of the grapes are international varietals, and 6 are indigenous Italian grapes. He is also paving the way for a definitive study of the effects of music on grapevine performance, co-sponsored by the University of Florence Agriculture department, and Bose Corporation.
These are truly great wines. Gea is essentially a baby-Brunello, released as a Sant' Antimo DOC. All three of the wines are small production lots and in high demand in the New York market. |
