La Ganghija

Enzo Rapalino's family has long been growing grapes in Alba, and now have released their first estate bottled wines. Enzo makes only 4500 bottles of wine in total, to include Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbaresco, and Barbera d'Alba.

The nose on the Barbaresco is lovely to say the least; it's full of red rose petals with just a hint of vanilla. On the palate the vanilla slightly dominates, along with hints of dark chocolate and spice. The oak teeters on the edge of stepping over the line, but at the moment it's still in balance. The tannin is surprisingly soft. Drink now and for the next decade.

Likewise, the Dolcetto and Barbera demonstrate the same lively expressions of fruit, and represent incredible value for money.
